Donors were deeply moved by the sight of hundreds of people from all walks of life working side by side to make a difference. It was a powerful display of God’s love. Many were so inspired that they parked their cars and asked how they could help — now that’s saying something!
Organizations like Ripley’s Believe It or Not and Guinness World Records, along with churches, groups, Boy Scouts, and countless volunteers, united with one simple goal: to help people through food, love, and connections that would impact hundreds of thousands of lives for years to come. The event brought together car and bike clubs, military personnel, firefighters, police officers, and community members, with food and activities for everyone.
Thunder in the Valley 2005 set a new benchmark for what a community can achieve when united by a positive goal. In the small town of Bechtelsville, PA, we filled 10 tractor-trailers and collected 156,889 pounds of food, setting a new record for Ripley’s Believe It or Not for the “Largest Community Food Drive in a 24-Hour Period” and a new Guinness World Record for the “Largest Food Drive by a Non-Charitable Organization (24 hours).”

People pulled up to drop of their food donation and were so touched by the sight of hundreds of people of all walks of life working shoulder to shoulder to help make a difference. It truly showed God’s love! People would just park their cars and ask how they could help! Now that is saying something!

The Team Members of Thunder Outreach were deeply touched. Working with the Local Police, Fire, Military and First Responders has always been a core part of the faith based events that Thunder Outreach has been part of.
The heart of God and Love that he has for his people is clearly stated in the Bible about Jesus and is still the same commitment that our First Responders and Military share today.
The Bible states in John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
We are Blessed to have people like this in our lives and Thunder Outreach will continue to show that “Love and Respect” to and for all the people and their families who “Protect and Serve” our communities everyday!

Thunder Outreach has been honored two times from the Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation for
their efforts and goodwill shown to all First Responders
and their families as part of the events that Thunder Outreach host.
Legion of Honor Award
“In recognition of service to all people regardless of race or faith”
The Legion of Honor “Humanitarian Award”
“Which is given in recognition of a lifetime commitment to selfless service and societal advancement that has demonstrably affected the quality of life in the community, state or nation, service without regard to faith or race.

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives had the honor of welcoming Mark Malizzi from Thunder Outreach Ministries in Douglassville, PA, to deliver the opening prayer for the day’s legislative session.
They also had the privilege of presenting Mark with a House citation in recognition of his outstanding work with Thunder Outreach on behalf of our first responders.

Thunder Outreach was honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the Senate of Pennsylvania for its dedication to supporting local veterans through the For God & Country Veteran Events. The certificate, presented by Senator John C. Rafferty, Jr., acknowledges the organization’s efforts to raise funds for veterans and highlight the sacrifices made by those who have served our country.
The events brought the community together to support courageous men and women who have selflessly defended our freedoms. Thunder Outreach extends its gratitude to Senator Rafferty and the Pennsylvania Senate for this recognition and remains committed to continuing its mission of helping local heroes in need.

The Philadelphia Soul teamed up with Thunder Outreach and
Heaven’s Thunder Band in conjunction with our First Responder’s Night.
The band was able to setup quickly and smoothly on our concourse to entertain fans entering our main atrium for the pregame hour before kickoff. The music was clear, high energy and family friendly for all fans to enjoy.
Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.
